Telegraphic speech refers to the early speech of children, so called because it lacks the same sorts of words which adults typically omit in telegrams. For example, inflectional morphemes and most minor lexical categories such as the infinitive marker "to", the article "a", the auxiliary verb "can" and various forms of the copula verb "be", are altogether missing.
电报式言语是指儿童的早期话语,之所以如此,是因为它缺少成人通常在电报中省略的相同种类的词语。例如,屈折语素和最小词范畴,如不定式标记“to”、 不定冠词“a”、助动词“can”和系动词“be”的各种形式,都完全缺失。
