Research findings have shown that language centers are not situated in a single area of the left hemisphere. Rather, there seem to be a number of language centers, each with its own specialized function. In addition to the motor area which is responsible for physical articulation utterances, three areas of the left hemisphere are vital to language, namely, Broca's area, Wernicke's area and the angular gyrus.
